Narrow Band Imaging Technology for Cancer Detection Now Available at Fauquier ENT!

Fauquier ENT now offers narrow band imaging (NBI) in the office to better detect cancer and other abnormal lesions in the throat. NBI is an endoscopic imaging technique whereby special filters are used to enhance visibility of vessels and other tissues on or near the mucosal surface. Specifically, it can better "see" dysplastic tissue including pre-cancerous lesions, cancer, and other abnormal mucosal lesions compared to normal light. Dr. Chang to Become Chair-Elect of AAO-HNS Committee

It has recently been announced that Dr. Chang will become the new Chair-Elect of the Public and Media Relations Committee within the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), an international organization for ENT surgeons. This one year term from 2016-2017 will subsequently transition to position of Chairperson for 2017-2019. He has been a committee member since 2014.

About once per year, I like to reassess how Fauquier ENT is doing online ever since it was digitally born in 2005. And over the years, I am happy to say it has grown substantially beyond anything anyone would have expected. The AAO-HNS has released a nifty iPhone app that contains 400+ Q&A to test one's knowledge in the field of otolaryngology. Called AcademyQ , it is free for 10 sample questions, but $49.99 to access the entire question bank. Although anybody can download the app ( link to app store), it's really meant for busy ENT surgeons. Northern Virginia Magazine published their annual list of Top Doctors for 2012 in their February 2012 edition. Robotic Surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea

I came across this article the other day regarding use of the daVinci robot to perform base of tongue surgery for obstructive sleep apnea . Dr. Chang a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in America

In November 2011, Dr. Christopher Chang was added to Castle Connolly's list of Top Doctors in America. Apparently, he is the only Top Doctor in the field of otolaryngology within a 30 mile radius. It's no surprise given patients travel from as far away as California and even the Philippines to be treated by Dr. Chang.
