Lead Singer Chad Kroeger Has Vocal Cord Cyst

Image by Thakingdome of Wikipedia Media  reported June 23, 2015 that Nickelback is canceling its 2015 tour due to lead singer's Chad Kroeger suffering from a vocal cord cyst .  He will be undergoing surgery to excise this cyst sometime in July 2015 and will need to be on voice rest . Sinus Mass Chance Finding (Incidentaloma)

The New York Times published a great story on the dreaded incidentaloma on Jan 17, 2013. NY Yankees Mariano Rivera Undergoes Vocal Cord Surgery

NY Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera may have a fabulous right arm, but his voice was not exactly golden. He apparently had vocal cord polyps that resulted in a progressively raspy voice . In September 2011, grammy-award winning singer  John Mayer announced the cancellation of a number of concerts as well as an album due to the development of a vocal cord granuloma of his voicebox. There are MANY theories as to how vocal cord  cysts ,  polyps , and  nodules  form. However, one theory that seems to make the most sense to me deals with how the vocal cord heals after a traumatic event (ie, screaming, yelling, coughing, etc).
