Trach Closure Time Lapse Video

Ever wonder how a trach opening closes after a trach tube is removed? Patients often worry that such an opening in the neck is permanent. It is not! With just time alone, the trach opening will close on its own over several weeks. Of course, occlusive dressings to prevent any air leak reinforced with a hand whenever talking or coughing helps ensure compete closure. Watch the time lapse video demonstrating trach closure. Please note that necessarily, pictures were obtained from several different patients at different time points after trach tube removal.

Below is another time-lapse video using generative AI to create a seamless video of a trach opening healing closed.
