Given how often I see adults with a persistent throat phlegm complaint that has been going on for months if not years, I decided to make a short video going through all the different possible causes as well as testing required in order to make the correct diagnosis. This issue is often incorrectly attributed to post-nasal drainage which only accounts for a small percentage of patients.
Diagnosis is key because once you correctly know what is causing the throat mucus, treatment is actually straightforward. But diagnosis is difficult because there are so many different possible reasons. This video goes over 5 main diagnostic groupings.
