Modified UPPP to Treat OSA Video




UPPP or uvulopalatopharyngoplasty is the "traditional" surgical procedure to help address obstructive sleep apnea in adult patients. However, more often, UPPP variations are performed instead. One such modified UPPP is shown in the above video. (Traditional UPPP video shown below.)

Such UPPP variations are performed either to minimize perceived risk of potential complications (cicatricial scarring, velopharyngeal insufficiency) or to improve OSA success rates beyond what could be achieved with traditional UPPP.
