Possibly carcinoma ex-pleomorphic adenoma.

If you find out what type carcinoma, please post.

No it was a high grade Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma. I remember reading an article where a family friend leaked the information about his tumor and it's aggression. Yauch left the tumor in his gland for quite a while too before having it checked out.

My son passed away seven months ago from high-grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma. He was 24-years-old. I have always wondered if Adam Yauch had the same kind of cancer. My son's cancer started in the submandibular gland and eventually spread to the right lung. MEC is a very aggressive cancer.

He was originally diagnosed with a pleomorphic adenoma. Then it returned after resection as a carcinoma. He dies from complications and infections related to the aggressive treatment. I am dealing with a pleomorphic adenoma returning after resection myself, and hopeful it is not malignant this time around. Sweet Adam. I think it could have a gone a different way for him.
