I encountered these amazing pictures in the Archives of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Dec 2010 edition in an article titled "Transoral Robotic-Assisted Surgery for Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma". This surgery was performed at Mayo Clinic as well as University of Alabama.

I read another story about this robotic surgery for tongue cancer. The photos aren't quite as graphic but there is a nice diagram that shows what this patient would have had to endure if not for this robotic procedure.

My name is Kalie Callinsky and I am currently a Senior at Portland State University. I am majoring in Business Administration Marketing, with a heavy emphasis on International Marketing. I am currrently taking a Marketing Strategy and Management class, (MKTG 464), which is an integrative course designed to apply marketing concepts in a variety of business applications. Our goal of the course is to come up with an innovative and efficient marketing plan for Intuitive Surgical, (http://www.intuitivesurgical.com/), which is a company that carries da Vinci surgical systems; or more specifically, robotic operating devices for various medical surgeries.
I have designed a quick 11 question survey which highlights some key questions that I have in regards to this semi-recent phenomenon. With your help I am hoping to get a substantial amount of survey responses to further help me in the understanding of what it is exactly consumers look for when undergoing various types of surgeries.
